Even more hands-on planning thanks to augmented reality

Wanzl Access Solutions optimises online configurator for Galaxy Gates

New access gate, new online configurator – following the development of the Galaxy Gate 1.1 and its many innovative features, Wanzl Access Solutions has now also updated the online configurator for its premium security gate. The highlight is the integration of the augmented reality (AR) function. This means that architects, specialist planners and project managers can now plan and configure the ideal access gate for their project online in an even more hands-on way.
Augmented reality makes planning in Wanzl’s online configurator much easier. With its support, the user can get a realistic idea of how the Galaxy Gate will fit into their project – both in terms of dimensions and design. Clicking on the relevant symbol in the configurator ("View product in the space") gives you the option of projecting the configured gate live into a real space in its original size via QR code or direct link using a smartphone or tablet. Partitions can now also be included in the configuration and local conditions such as a fire alarm system or underfloor heating can be taken into account.

Configuration of individual Galaxy Gates 1.1 from Wanzl

The configurator impresses with its intuitive operating concept and versatility. All changes and modifications are visualised directly in the 3D model. The user can move freely between the individual configuration steps. 360° views and a zoom function are also possible when using a PC mouse. Up to six passages can be configured simultaneously.
In the gate specification, a separate passage width can be determined for each passage. Of course, the overall width of the access system changes depending on your selection. This is calculated automatically in the configurator and displayed immediately. This allows you to see at a glance whether the planned Galaxy Gates 1.1 will fit into the space available. The height of the toughened safety glass swivel arms can also be flexibly adjusted.

The user can choose between the most common “card reader” and “QR code/barcode reader” release units, which can also be freely positioned at the entrance and/or exit of the gates. The same applies to the “emergency button” and a “7-inch information display”. You also have the option of choosing to integrate Wanzl Access Manager, the digital dashboard for optimum control of the gates and much more.

The housing frame and cover can be designed according to your own requirements in the optics step. Both are available in pure stainless steel or RAL colour powder coating in Pure white, Ultramarine, Anthracite iron mica, Luminous orange or Mohair blue. High-quality foils in a carbon or wood look are available as an additional design option for the cover. LED lighting for the safety glass swivel arms and side panes rounds off the configuration options for the Galaxy Gate 1.1. While the lighting of the swivel arms increases user comfort by displaying the device status in colour, the illumination of the side panes in blue, green, red or violet plays an important role, above all for the aesthetics and corporate design. In addition, a logo or slogan can be placed on the side panes. Once the configuration is complete, an enquiry can be sent directly to the Wanzl team. The result can also be shared as a QR code including the augmented reality projection and it can be downloaded in a PDF summary. The PDF document contains a list of the customer’s chosen design components.

Visualising and defining what is feasible – with the new online configurator from Wanzl for the Galaxy Gate 1.1, customers can easily and directly present their vision of the perfect access system and, thanks to augmented reality, even incorporate it into their project planning in a realistic way.
