Your duties

Key Responsibilities

· Provide support and assistance to the Group Health and Safety Manager

· Provide advice to Managers throughout the business

· Administration and improvement of the SHE Health and Safety Management System

· Conduct and record site audits, ensuring follow up actions are completed in a timely manner.

· Experience with external 3rd party audits, supporting the Health and Safety Manager including Altius, Safe Contractor, SEDEX, Artila and Avetta.

· Providing health and safety advice and support to all areas of the business

· Manage the administration for Health & Safety policies ensuring accurate document control through the SHE system

· Manage and monitor health and safety training through the SHE System

· Support the Health and Safety Manager with Health Surveillance programme

· Support with the investigations of accidents and incidents, including near misses, ensuring any findings are communicated effectively.

· Compile monthly Health and Safety reports

· Manage Health and Safety committee meetings

· Support with Health and Safety Meetings at Manager level

· Administer PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) requirements and records

· Ensure all induction records are accurately completed and updated on the SHE system.

· Completion of risk assessments, safe systems of work and Construction Phase Plans

· Maintain the contractors Facilities database

· Maintain the approved Contractors database

· Arrange external facilities contractor visits for e.g. facilities breakdowns

· Compliance to company policies and group management systems and current legislation.

· Providing advice and training for all employees will be a key element of this role in addition to ensuring the SHE H&S system is maintained correctly.

· Creating training documents, tool box talks and safety bulletins

 

Skills and Qualifications

 

Requirements:

· 5 years’ experience in H&S or similar compliance based role - Essential

· Minimum NEBOSH Certificate – Essential

· Expert knowledge of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015

· Comprehensive knowledge of health & safety legislation codes of practice, standards and any other regulatory requirements

· Knowledge of ROI Health and Safety Legislation

· Excellent IT skills (inc. Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

· Enthusiastic and a good team player

· Ability to work quickly whilst maintaining high levels of accuracy

· Confidentiality regarding personal records

· Organises own work and prioritises own tasks

· Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) with internal and external stakeholders

· Must be flexible and work in multiple locations

· Driving license essential due to the amount of travel involved in this role

This role will be based out of the Kildare office but will require travel to all other sites in Ireland frequently.
