Newton, NC (For Immediate Release): Wanzl North America continues to expand product offerings and services, as a leading solution provider to retailers spanning North America. Based in Newton, NC, the company will open a new warehouse in Lincolnton. A ribbon cutting ceremony on October 4th, 2022 will commemorate the start of operations at the new facility, with Lincolnton County officials scheduled to attend.
“Strong long-term sales growth with both national and regional retailers is driving our continued investment in the Catawba Valley and surrounding communities,” explains Ben Hinnen, Wanzl North America CEO. Wanzl is the leading shopping cart producer in North America, but the new Lincolnton warehouse will be mainly dedicated to other product lines. Located in the Lincoln County Industrial Park, the new facility showcases an 83,000 sq. ft. warehouse and office. This new space is a 50% larger footprint that the current warehouse and houses 6,750 storage locations. This is the first step in Wanzl’s effort to modernize operations by integrating a truly state of the art warehousing concept. All inventory will be fully tracked 100% of the time during material movements, offering a new level of visibility and control. With the additional storage space, the facility will soon be flowing with shelving units, product displays, and access gates destined for businesses across the continent.
“Once operating, the Lincolnton warehouse will consist of only 16 employees, due to the efficiency enabled by the newly implemented Warehouse Management System, increased storage capacity and new equipment which allows greater cube utilization in our warehouse,” stated Tim Lominac, Senior Materials Manager. The new warehouse will ensure Wanzl continues to meet customer needs from a larger, consolidated site. Wanzl North America currently has two existing warehouses in the area, with the new Lincolnton warehouse located only 8 miles from Wanzl’s Newton manufacturing facility and corporate offices.
