A customised access control system in just a few clicks

Wanzl presents the online configurator for Galaxy Gate

Online configurators have many benefits. They visualise expectations, arouse new ideas, are available at any time and define what is feasible. In short: they make planning significantly easier. Especially in the construction industry, they are a valuable service for architects, specialist planners and project managers. Wanzl Access Solutions also provides an online configurator on its website for its premium access gate, the Galaxy Gate: www.wanzl.com/galaxygate/

It couldn't be easier. A wizard welcomes the user and guides them through the individual configuration steps with clear instructions if desired. Those who prefer to explore the design variety of the Galaxy Gate on their own can simply deactivate the wizard function. Then it’s about trying something out, correcting, presenting and saving. All of the changes made are displayed directly on the 3D model. The user can freely switch between the individual steps, view their current configuration in presentation mode from all sides at any time or create screenshots of different versions. 360° rotations and a zoom function are also supported via the PC mouse. Users can thus intuitively design their desired Galaxy Gate with the online configurator.

Each object has its own scale and security specifications. The entrance systems must be configured with the necessary flexibility, for example the widths of the passages and the entire entrance system. Users can choose between five different passage widths – from 550 mm to a maximum of 1,250 mm. Up to four Galaxy Gates can be designed in one configuration process. The overall width of the access system changes accordingly and is therefore automatically calculated in the configurator and displayed immediately. This allows the user to immediately see whether the planned Galaxy Gates conform to the specifications. The height of the ESG swivel arms can also be flexibly adjusted. Customers can choose between 860 mm, 1,200 mm or 1,500 mm. If a particular combination of passage width and swivel arm height is not possible, it will not be possible to click on that option from the start.

For the right style – adaptation to design and interior

Customisation made easy - thanks to the online tool, the housing frame and cover of the Galaxy Gates can be designed as the user wishes. When it comes to the frame, the question of whether to opt for a pure stainless steel look or a colour powder coating arises. If the powder-coated version is chosen, the desired colour can be selected from the standard range of Pure White, Ultramarine, Metallic Grey Anthracite and Flame Red. Or users can create their own colour by determining the RGB values. For the cover, additional design options are available such as high-quality applications in carbon or wood. Of course, the handrail can also be designed in a stainless steel look or powder-coated in the desired colour.

With that extra touch – freely selectable accessories, LED lighting, corporate design

What should it be? Card reader, LED monitor or panic button? On both sides of the Galaxy Gate or only on one? Accessories are simply selected or deselected with a click of the mouse and displayed in the 3D model. Swivel arms and side panes can also have LED illumination as an option and, for optimum user convenience, the colours red, green or blue can be used to indicate the operating status of the doors. When it comes to illumination of the side panes, aesthetics and corporate design play an important role. These can therefore be customised via an RGB colour palette. The glass areas can also be sandblasted with the company logo or a claim.

Once the perfect Galaxy Gate has been created, the configuration is completed. Decision-makers can then send their designed access system directly to the Wanzl team as an enquiry. If they prefer to do this later, the link to the configuration can either be saved or the configuration can be downloaded as a PDF file. The PDF document shows clear pictures of the configuration from various angles, as well as an overview of the design components selected.
