Based in Zlaté Hory in the Czech Republic, CS-CONT s.r.o. is one of the leading manufacturers of residential, sanitary and special containers, as well as modular buildings. As a subsidiary of the Austrian company CONTAINEX – which is part of the WALTER GROUP – CS-CONT mainly supplies markets in Western Europe, thanks to its modern production technologies and strong group structure. With an annual production capacity of over 17,000 containers for use in education, healthcare, management and residential areas, the company sets the standard for quality and flexibility.
As part of an optimisation project, CS-CONT’s warehouse management approached WANZL with the aim of improving the efficiency of internal logistics in the area of material distribution. The focus was on reducing operating costs, improving personnel deployment planning, and streamlining material provision. Another aspect was reducing the number of forklift truck operations for safety reasons and to minimise maintenance and operating costs.
WANZL then developed a holistic concept on the basis of standardised pallet trolleys for Euro pallets. These enable the safe, efficient and standard-compliant movement of materials within production. Alongside the standard Wanzl pallet trolleys, CS-CONT also uses larger options specially designed for transporting larger components, such as shower doors, sanitary facilities, electrical materials and lighting components.
Warehouse staff provide the material the day before. The following morning, the loaded pallet trolleys are distributed directly to the respective workstations by tugger train. This system has been introduced gradually to all production and assembly lines, and now reliably supplies all container assemblies with the required materials.
KT4 shelving trolleys in various designs complement the solution, enabling a wide range of small parts to be transported. With a load capacity of up to 650 kg, these trolleys are used for both order picking in the warehouse and transporting smaller components to individual workstations. SP4 transport trolleys are also used to efficiently round off the internal logistics system.
While an exact ROI calculation is unavailable, experience shows that the solution works. Material flows are more clearly structured, processes are accelerated, and occupational health and safety is improved.
"CS-CONT is a prime example of a customer with clear ideas who is open to new approaches. Thanks to mutual trust, we were able to develop a technically sophisticated tugger train configuration that meets the highest quality, ergonomic and durability standards, and is tailored to the specific on-site requirements," says Monika Obračajová, Key Account Manager at WANZL.
Conclusion - Innovation as a competitive advantage
CS-CONT impressively demonstrates how modern manufacturing companies can strengthen their competitiveness by investing in logistics and internal processes. Its openness to innovation, the willingness to test new solutions and the long-term cooperation with partners such as WANZL make CS-CONT a pioneer in European container production.
