Experiencing football in Wolfsburg

Welcome to VFL-FußballWelt

One of the most famous football clubs in Germany is located in Wolfsburg in Lower Saxony. Both the men's and women's teams have been an important part of the German football landscape for some time now. The club's own museum in the AOK Stadium in Allerpark, VfL-FußballWelt, is also first-class. In this "adventure playground" for football fans, visitors become part of the VfL Wolfsburg team and get a chance to experience their own press conference as newcomers to the club, compete with the professionals in terms of vertical leaps, speed, reaction time and feel for the ball as well as get a first-hand insight into the players' areas of the Volkswagen Arena. Even the entrance area is sure to make fans’ hearts skip a beat. Fans, families and other interested parties are greeted by the attractive Galaxy Gate from Wanzl – in the club's green and white look, of course.

At VfL-FußballWelt fans’ dreams come true: they get to feel the tension in the players' tunnel, stand in the flurry of photographers' flashlights and answer journalists' questions. The "Player Pass", an RFID wristband, can be purchased online or directly on-site at one of the ticket counters. Then, things move at lightning speed and without a hitch. The wristband with the integrated RFID reader is simply scanned at the Galaxy Gate and the swivel arms open up to the 800-square-metre experience area without long waits or delays in the game. Then it's time to get going and join in the excitement. "VfL-FußballWelt is not a conventional museum, but an interactive exhibition in which football can be experienced by every single visitor. The wristband acts as both an admission ticket and a source of inspiration for the interactive content within the exhibition," explains Sebastian Buhl, head of VfL-FußballWelt.

The museum has around 30,000 enthusiastic visitors a year with visitor flows being easily managed thanks to the automated check-in processes and the sophisticated software of the Galaxy Gate. Operation and installation are equally convenient. "It was not necessary to integrate the software into the existing systems. The Galaxy Gate is operated simply via a browser application, without any integration into the ELA system being necessary," explains Sebastian Buhl. The Galaxy Gate not only boasts state-of-the-art technology, but also features a specific design in a customised powder coating which makes the Galaxy Gate shine in the club colours. The wolves' crest is emblazoned on the side sections. Sebastian Buhl: "Besides the technical aspects, the design options were of course a very important aspect when selecting the access system. Our fans identify themselves 100 percent with the green and white club colours and the club-specific design at the reception desk makes visitors excited for our football world.”

An emotional eye-catcher and elegant harbinger of the football delights to come, the Galaxy Gate is a true all-rounder and also acts as a reliable referee as, in addition to convenience, design and functionality, the safety of guests and employees is a top priority. "With the Galaxy Gate, no one can enter the exhibition without permission. This ensures an orderly and effective entry to VfL-FußballWelt," says Sebastian Buhl. To achieve this, the stainless steel housing of the Galaxy Gate is fitted with top-quality, state-of-the-art technology and access is only granted to authorised persons, without exception. Should a guest attempt to enter VfL-FußballWelt without a ticket, this attempt will be stopped directly by closing the swivel arms and by sounding acoustic and optical warning signals. In the “team” of VfL-FußballWelt, the Galaxy Gate is supported by another "player" from the Wanzl squad: the Wanzl Galaxyport is also on the starting grid and bids farewell to visitors to VfL-FußballWelt at the exit. At the same time, it prevents visitors from using the exit to enter the exhibition without authorisation.
