Largest Chilean sports retailer relies on Wanzl shopfitting quality

Wanzl demonstrates sporting expertise

What some experts see as the future of the European market is already a reality in the Chilean sports market. The new Sparta sport shop in the Plaza Egaña Mall in Santiago is surrounded almost exclusively by mono-brand stores. With over 50 stores, Sparta is not just the only nationwide, multi-brand sports retail chain, but also Chile's only serious competitor to brand shops.

Sparta is standing up to the increasingly competitive market with a new shop format developed in collaboration with Wanzl. At 700 m2 it is not only three times as large as the existing store, but focuses in particular on brand-independent advice: in the central area of the shop known as the "DNA", customers will find nutritional and health advice, complete with the corresponding product range. Employees are also on hand to answer any questions on the wide variety of gadgets available. They also help out if customers wish to order a personally configured bike via the online shopping terminal.

Arranged around this "DNA" area are product displays for football, outdoor, cycling, swimming, yoga and racquet sports. The sports shoe and outerwear product segments complete the range. The goods are presented using a high-quality system that promotes impulse buying: the multifunctional duo tech goods presentation system from Wanzl.

As a multi-brand retailer, Sparta relies within the growing market of sports on balanced presentation of its own-brand goods and high-quality, international brands from Berghaus to New Balance and Speedo.
