Malteser “Bringers of Happiness” campaign

Wanzl supports Hilfsdienst e.V.

As in previous years, the Wanzl Group in Leipheim once again demonstrated its social commitment in 2023. At the end of the year, the company provided a truck with a large trailer for the Malteser Hilfsdienst e.V. association from Mindelheim and once again supported the “Bringers of Happiness” campaign.

In this campaign, the Catholic aid service supplies children and families in need in the Romanian regions of Gaesti and Tirgoviste with basic foods such as rice, pasta, flour, salt or oil. Toiletries such as toothbrushes or shower gel are also distributed. The food packages were handed out at Christmas, and they included a small gift. Citizens packed parcels, handed them in to the Malteser who then transported them to Romania.

Because the “Bringers of Happiness” campaign is funded by donations, support of any kind was welcome. "In recent years, tens of thousands of food parcels, hundreds of pallets of children's food and warm winter clothing have been delivered to the partner region. However, this requires large vehicles. I am delighted that I am once again able to transport parcels to Romania with a truck provided by Wanzl," explains Hermann Bertel, warehouse assistant for internal transport at Wanzl in Kirchheim.

Last year, Malteser Hilfsdienst e.V. also requested a semi-trailer to transport the large quantity of food packages from the Leipheim region to Romania. Hermann Bertel was enthusiastic: "It’s really great that Wanzl has once again become a “Bringer of Happiness”. With this campaign, the aid arrived where it was needed. And there’s no nicer Christmas gift than to watch children's eyes light up."
