POST EXPO

Wanzl Logistics + Industry has the full package of logistics power

"POST EXPO was an interesting platform for us to present ourselves to the industry. Our focus was therefore also on networking. It was an unprecedented success. We made highly valuable international contacts,” reports Markus Spengler, Divisional Manager of Wanzl Logistics + Industry. He adds: "The international audience was especially important to us. This allowed us to sustainably position ourselves as a global supplier and development partner for package roll containers." The intralogistics experts presented three package roll containers: a single model, a model suitable for train configuration and a design prototype. The single package roll container impressed booth visitors with its high load capacity of around 500 kg, the locking mechanism for secure loading and unloading and the foldable handle for ergonomic pushing and pulling. An especially handy feature is that the containers can be nested when not in use, thereby saving precious storage space. The package roll container for train configuration has the same features and can accommodate up to five roll containers. Thanks to the high-quality construction and powerful locking mechanism, the package roll containers are ideally suited for safe handling for truck transportation. Markus Spengler continues: “One of our major strengths is customisation. We manufacture according to our customers’ requirements and develop solutions together with them. Our basic models therefore have a flexible design. For instance, customers can choose between open and closed designs and customise the base plates of our package roll containers for train configuration. Our aim is to offer customers a tailor-made product.”

Never before have so many packages been sent, thanks to the boom in online retail. New solutions are needed to successfully cope with this ever-increasing logistics challenge. From 9 to 11 October, the leading global trade fair for the postal and packages services industry, POST-EXPO, took place in Hamburg. Wanzl Logistics + Industry was there among many high-profile international exhibitors and presented innovative ideas in the field of intralogistics.

And Wanzl would not be Wanzl if new, innovative solutions were not presented. A design prototype shows the package roll container of the future: "At many package service providers, a package is handled around 30-50 times until it is finally delivered. We would like to simplify this process in collaboration with selected partners. For this reason, we have developed a roll container with special plastic sides. These allow RFID scanning without having to physically handle the load,” explains Markus Spengler. "Another goal of the design prototype is to present a modular roll container. Our customers will be able to configure their own, customised package roll container using a variety of modules.” The trade fair has shown us one thing: Wanzl Logistics + Industry will make a significant contribution to designing and shaping the future of intralogistics.
