Cruising along!

The new addition to the "Kussmund" fleet Wanzl trolleys in operation on the AIDAprima

With 18 decks and space for 3,300 passengers, the 300-metre-long AIDAprima is the new flagship of Rostock-based cruise line AIDA Cruises. Wanzl has also been on board since the AIDAprima moored in its home port of Hamburg for the first time in April.

A major order for Wanzl from AIDA Cruises: after its launch in the Port of Hamburg, the eleventh ship in the "Kussmund" fleet made its maiden voyage in May and offers an extensive range of new features, including the German cruise market's first floating ice rink, a Skywalk made of glass and the longest indoor water slide on a passenger ship. Overhauled from bow to stern, there are now 14 cabin categories with a total of 1,643 cabins for passengers to choose from. From inside cabins to veranda cabins with their own terrace through to spacious suites, every guest will have just the accommodation they are looking for.

Room service on wheels!

Wanzl shares in the responsibility for service in the passenger cabins and behind the scenes: almost 1,000 trolleys – manufactured and supplied to Wanzl's usual very high standard in Leipheim and Kirchheim – run on board the 54-metre-high ship and ensure first-class guest service. Among these, 98 Premium ZP Classic chambermaid trolleys help provide a perfect room service, transporting fresh towels and guest supplies to cabins and taking dirty laundry away. Waste disappears out of guests' sight into the rubbish bag with a polyester cover. The 5th castor underneath the middle of the trolley makes the body itself highly agile in small spaces, easy to manoeuvre and able to be turned on the spot. This ultra-easy handling is extremely important since every inch of space counts on a passenger ship.

Even more laundry can be carried on the 120 laundry trolleys . With their ingenious folding mechanism, the trolleys can be stored between uses without taking up too much space.

Logistics on a roll!

250 roll cruisers are used to optimise baggage logistics on the cruise ship. They ensure luggage is transported quickly and carefully from check-in at the port to the cabins during embarkation. All items of luggage are pre-sorted on the roll cruisers ready to be transported to the correct deck and cabin. The process is reversed during disembarkation.

More than 50 luggage collection trolleys also carry passengers' suitcases, trolleys and other luggage items. In excess of 350 additionalorder picking and transport trolleys keep the vast logistics operation running on board the AIDAprima each day, meaning passengers can sit back, relax and enjoy every minute of their holiday out at sea and thoroughly spoil themselves in the twelve restaurants, three snack bars and fourteen cafés and bars. Cruises for holidaymakers have been running every week of the year since May, starting in Hamburg and heading for London, Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam.
